Perhaps it would've been more accurate to say, "during the Breaking. " Joel Send a noteboard - 01/12/2009 06:07:58 AM
It was present when the Aes Sedai sent the Aiel off with the ter'angreal in the Rhuidean flashback. The exact timing is not clear without the books, but it was built around the same time as the Choeden Kal. I think Cadsuane also placed the timing around then.

It seems to me both Callandor and the Stone were the last major One Power artifacts, born of a necessity perhaps greater than the DO himself. It also seems like the Choedan Kal were probably made sooner, though it's again hard to be clear on the data we have. We do know, however, that a critical reason LTT acted unilaterally at the Strike on Shayol Ghul was that the areas where the access keys had been secretly hidden had both fallen to the Shadow, which implies they were at or near completion by then.

My impression of the Rhuidean scene is that Callandor (and perhaps much else... ) were fresh from the mold then. After all, the plan all along was to ensconce it in the Stone to await the Dragon, so clearly that hadn't happened yet, either because the Stone itself was still incomplete or simply because they hadn't yet had the opportunity.

Didn't Rand see Hawkwing's ghost, summoned by the Horn of Valere? *NM* - 20/11/2009 09:14:35 PM 515 Views

It can't be Turak's sword as that had a heron on it and Rand's new sword doesn't - 20/11/2009 10:40:24 PM 989 Views
Lews Therin did not wield Callandor (probably). - 20/11/2009 11:02:26 PM 972 Views
No, IIRC he didn't use it when creating the Seal. - 21/11/2009 01:54:41 AM 846 Views
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think Callandor was made after the Breaking. - 27/11/2009 01:13:02 PM 884 Views

Rand didn't recognize it from LTT's memories though, he said. - 20/11/2009 09:28:51 PM 1026 Views
Very true, but he also wasn't fully integrated with LTTs memories at that time - 20/11/2009 10:36:03 PM 902 Views
Which makes me wonder. What is Hawking fighting with when the Horn of Valere is blown? *NM* - 21/11/2009 12:42:04 AM 409 Views
