agreed. accepting that power comes at a price isn't evil. it's what drives people NOT to fail... Onarishma Send a noteboard - 04/12/2009 08:51:01 AM
This wasn't some instant degradation either. the War of Power lasted a hundred years and that was after years of growing corruption. now imagine that the DO proved his claims. A power more delicious than the OP that left you free of responsibilities to others(read true freedom and independence), people had been transmigrated during that time so his promises of immortality had been realized. And when you pair the idea of immortality with "neccesary" conversion to the Shadow the cruel behaviors could have started off by simply believing that your Great Lord would resurect the misguided souls who rejected him once he had consolidated his power.

Likewise AS are more succeptible to this because of the simple fact that the DO can make good on his claims. Whether or not he intends to is irrelevant to the fact that he can. most people can't witness the effect of living longer either. AS can see the benefits of currently living two to three times longer imagine the temptation of living forever. like Semirhage points out even if you don't get what you what right away you have enternity to get it.

I see no reason to believe Kari was a Darkfriend. Ishamael is a liar, and that's that. - 04/12/2009 01:19:00 AM 773 Views
