Sarene was one of Elaida's AS, who captured Rand in LoC.
I checked my notes, and of course, you are right. I don't know what influence she could think they have with Elaida. This could be a twist of the truth as AS will do. Some influence could mean just about anything, so she isn't necessarily lying.
That Sarene or the other AS don't have much influence on Elaida, especially in the current situation. And there is no sensible way that Semirhage's cooperation would make the AS more able to persuade Elaida to lessen Semirhage's punishments, since Elaida doesn't know about it at all.
The Oath is really a joke, if it allows such false statements to deceive someone else.
