If the TP was radically different, would that not mean that anyone wanting to use it would have to learn everything from scratch.
Would that not mean that the forsaken with centuries with OP experience and skill would never use the TP at all since they would be unskilled novices with it. That no one would, not even Ishamael.
Far more likely that it works just like the OP and that those who wield it can bring their OP skill to TP with ease. Infact that would mean that TP can actually be channeled using the techniques of Saidin or Saidar both, since either gender can use TP. Meaning its actually easier to use than OP having two ways (both OP ways) to accomplish every goal.
