They gave up whatever advantage they had as soon as they didn't strike when they felt her embrace the source. She's easily skilled enough to weave 3 deadly flows at once. The men would have been dead before they knew they were being attacked.

The men could have attacked at any time, and Elayne wouldn't have known. She mentions that there are ways to interfere with a man's channeling apart from shielding (which is what I think Lanfear was doing with Rand), but she only knew the theory of it. A pity she never actually learned it.
I agree with your assessment of Egwene's dexterity BTW ... and the rationale for it too

I agree they could just as easily have killed her, but they gave up the advantage when they didn't attack and when Taim sat there and told them not to be stupid, there are only 2 of them (not knowing Renaile was a channeler). Overall this is a bad example of who is more skilled...

I'm more interested in the Flinn-circle vs. Demandred and Verin-circle vs. Graendal ... obviously both of these battles were relatively evenly matched and the Forsaken should have destroyed the others with barely a thought...
