When will a character read "The Strike at Shayol Ghul"? fionwe1987 Send a noteboard - 26/01/2010 09:10:02 PM
Here's what we know about the author of "The Strike at Shayol Ghul":

by Jorille Mondevin,
Royal Historian to the Court of Her Most Illuminated Majesty, Ethenielle Kirukon Materasu, By the Blessing of the Light, Queen of Kandor, Protector of the Land, Shield of the North, High Seat of House Materasu.

Clearly, he is a contemporary of Rand, and thus, the fragments that are mentioned have already been found or will be found very soon.

Unless one is a stone blinded idiot, it is clear that these fragments will be vital in defeating the DO, as they have information pertaining to the previous attempt, and why it failed.

Granted, Rand already knows the gist of it from LTT. But will he tell?

More importantly, will Ethenielle and her Royal Historian not think to share this with some Aes Sedai or with Rand himself?

I think this might have some bearing in the tiff between Rand and the Borderlanders. Maybe they'll offer these fragments as a sign of support?

Or, maybe Egwene will. Maybe the next time someone goes to collect tribute from Kandor, they'll hear of the newly discovered fragment and carry it to the Tower?

What do you think?
