It is harder to be courageous when you have none of those advantages, thus I think it is much more impressive when someone possessed of fewer advantages exhibits bravery despite their weakness.
In many ways, Rand, Lews Therin and the other protagonists fulfill the archetype of being so larger than life that they lose the element of mortality needed to consider them heroes capable of sacrifice - things just happen too easily for them. Perhaps part of my opinion is coloured by the discussions of what qualities make a hero in greek mythology and tragedy, but I think their needs to be a sense of risk requiring sacrifice and none of the main characters have had to really do that, since they have such a surplus of capabilities that no loss can't be considered unrecoverable.

"Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness."
Who is the bravest WOT character -- a soldier willing to sacrifice the most for their own cause?

I'd say there are only two serious candidates, and one clear winner

Can totally get behind Tuon for that scene. Bornhold's a boring fanatic, though. *NM*
