I'm comfortable just thinking she might have gone for extra points and did this.
As already said, by this logic it's at least as likely that Graendal searched for the seals or the other two ta'veren to get "extra points". This likely wouldn't directly provoke Rand, contrary to giving him pain of heart.
But if it makes you comfortable, stick to it.
