Somewhat disagree about Oaths Skeeve the Great Send a noteboard - 06/02/2010 06:28:13 PM

I don't think the Oaths have a weave in your mind akin to Graendal's Compulsion. In other words, if you delved someone with the Oaths you would find nothing. The Oaths probably alter you physiologically and then disappear - sort of like shooting a fireball into your brain and having a different brain afterwards with no evidence of the weapon.

The Oaths can only hold channelers whereas Compulsion can hold anyway, and the Oaths are released by severing. This implies something to do with the connection to the source, which I once again consider to be a change in neurotransmitters - human vs channeler.

I mentioned about Oaths because it behaves similar to the Compulsion, for example, the person can not do what he does normally. And it can be removed, which means that something is left on the person in order to be removed. Otherwise, using your theory, each time Oaths applied and/or removed, the person is different than before the whole process, which I don't think is true.

And I agree with you that Oaths somewhat different, because they affect only channelers and thus should be somehow related to the thing Nynaeve discovered during Healing of Logain, Suian and Leane.

As of practical implementation - Healing Black Ajah Oaths without Oaths Rod so the person could reveal the Dark One plans.

Why? It's a flawed method with side effects. There are other ways to undo that. - 05/02/2010 11:35:01 PM 407 Views
