Would be more useful to know what the current ones think. Also how do they know what the views are in the foreign office as they are no longer gainully employed? Perhaps they still have friends there but then that would raise serious questions about staff at the Foreign Office and the Official Secrets act.

The last bit is, I assume, the reason why no current ones have come forward.
