Man. I just don't know. I wonder if we aren't merely buying all our own fantasy/scf-fi hype. What is the scientific point to all of this? Are we really going to live off-world at some point? Why would we want to do that? Every place outside of our ozone is death to us. Are we hoping to find intelligent life elsewhere? Without FTL speed (faster than light) that’s not going to happen, and unless physics change FTL is not going to happen. So what does that leave us with? Telescopes. Okay. But again, what is the point of all of this? Distraction. If I want distraction I’ll watch the Apprentice or come here. I don’t think we need to spend 10 trillion dollars on lunar or space-station development.

We are just bored with earth.
