Met him at one GenCon UK where he was set-up on the ground floor of the Kensington Olympia for the whole thing (this was back when GenCon was still held at the Olympia, so a fair few years ago now) promoting his newest book, Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse. I can't remember much about it as it was awhile ago but I do remember that he was very approachable and happy to chat and signed a copy of his book for my sister-in-law's birthday. She's a fan so it seemed like a great present idea... then she went and changed her name before her birthday! Bitch! 
But yeah, that was cool. Don't think I've met any other authors, I'm too lazy to go to signings.
