Chances are that I love it so much because I hadn't read anything else even remotely similar up to that point. It was my first major literary knock upside the head. It would be interesting to see what others think.


I didn't find anything particularly shocking, funny or otherwise insightful. There were a few amusing moments, but that's it. I tried again a couple years later, and I got through it again, but I pretty much had the same reaction.

I might just be dumb, though.
