Re: the twins, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Voldemort, Draco and Tonks

The twins: I like how they were planning on buying Zonko's.
Seems a tad unrealistic, though.
But okay.
But okay. Why? They are brilliant and making loads of money, and Zonko is closing down because of lack of students visiting, I am sure.
Hermione: her reaction to Ron almost dying … what can I say? I am a sucker for that sort of thing. Ron muttering her name has less impact on me, but it still makes me happy. In a terribly cheesy way.
Yes, quite a scare, poor Hermione... the good thing is it stops them both from being silly.
Indeed.
Ron: I wonder whether almost dying is what made him realise that he did not want to waste time on Lavender. His happiness that McLaggen is universally despised is also oddly heartwarming.
It's only a culmination of a longer evolution - he's been annoyed by Lavender before, and already pissed her off when under the love spell. It was a matter of time anyway, but no doubt this experience and Hermione's obvious display of interest helped speed things up.
Yes.
His "I love you, Hermione" is also wonderfully casual. I like that. It is not like in Hollywood films.
Seems to me I hear people say "I love you" like that a lot in Hollywood films.
What's special about this one, of course, is that it sounds like the platonic kind but likely was intended to have a deeper meaning. Still, hardly a declaration of romantic love.
What's special about this one, of course, is that it sounds like the platonic kind but likely was intended to have a deeper meaning. Still, hardly a declaration of romantic love. That was my point. It is not the "oh my, I cannot say `I love you' because that is such a massively hughe thing to say bladibladibla let us agonise over it and all go mental so that this film will have a plot". It was straightforward. It has both the "I love chocolate" "you are amazing" and "I love you" sides to it.
Luna: I love her commentary.
But you really have to wonder why McGonagall have her the job...

Is McGonagall the one who decides? Could it be Prof Sprout?
Voldemort: I wonder why his eyes flash scarlet when he is looking at the future horcruxes. is it an effect of his already having split his soul? It is clear that the dark arts (or possibly just the horcruxes) have a very physical effect.
That's possible, now that you mention it...
Draco: Myrtle's comments suggest that Legolas is right in supposing Draco is not as confident as he pretends to Snape. He is afraid and alone. Although a description of Draco as "sensitive" is a little surprising. It is interesting, though. And it does fit with the idea of his persona as a mask attempting to cover deep insecurities.
We don't really know what Draco is like because we only ever see the front he puts up for his Slytherin cronies and his Gryffindor enemies. So, well, why not. It's an interesting contrast with Voldemort in his Hogwarts period, though.
Indeed.
Tonks: all right, so her worry for Lupin in a little endearing, but I am still not convinced.
I was wondering why she wanted to see Dumbledore, but you must be right, she's probably asking him about Lupin and to call him off that mission... I've never had any problems with the thing between them, I'm plenty convinced.
She has heard that someone has gotten hurt, assumes it is Lupin, and wants to talk to Dumbledore to find out the truth.
And you should read the Shoebox project.
