I like books. I like the feel, the sounds, everything that gets mentioned in posts like this.

But this ereader is something else. If you have never tried one, you really ought to. Go to a Target/Best Buy/Barnes and Noble/Borders, wherever, and just get a feel for them. I am the same way, reading from a laptop screen gives me eyestrain and headaches, and I DID NOT want that when I read a book. But everyone who ever sees my reader screen, everyone, has the same reaction: "Whoa!". They come in for a closer look, I turn pages for them. As long as an ereader has the E-Ink screen, it doesn't feel or look like a laptop, a cell phone, an ipod, or anything.

Battery life is not an issue. It lasts forever. And I have an old cell phone charger that works with my Sony, so I can read and charge at the same time when it gets low, if I don't just charge overnight. But it usually lasts me about a week, depending on how often I read. And whenever I hook it up to put more books on, it's getting charged anyways.

I suppose the choice of ebooks is smaller than real books, but come on, how many real books do you have access to anyway? And now I do have access to all the classics, Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Frankenstein, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Twain etc. (Yeah, I switched from characters to authors there. ) All the books everyone knows about and nobody reads.

I don't know what I'll do when certain books come out. Right now I'm unsure if I'll get Wise Man's Fear as an ebook or hardcover. I'll probably get AMOL in hardcover, maybe the Stormlight Archive books, who knows.

And as Ghavrel said, bookshelves are more irritating than battery life. I was running out of room for my books, and it's a real pain when I have to move all of them.

As someone who was on the book side of the Book vs Ereader spectrum, I gotta say, these things aren't bad.
