Like there's fantasy, but then there's urban fantasy, epic fantasy, modern fantasy, and I'm sure a half dozen others I can't think of off hand. And you can take something like Harry Potter and quantify it as any of them, if you want to (urban because it often takes place in cities and towns, modern because its set in present day and they use magic for things like cars and telephones, epic because there's a Big Evil Wizard who is going to Take Over The World...)
So yeah, all of those little categories of 'punk were interesting, but it's probably best not to try too hard to force a given story into a specific hole.

Thus I prefer broad labels when employing them at all; they usually require less force, and most good works aren't simplistic enough to fit just one.
