Who is your favourite sci-fi writer? Why?

Don't really read sci fi. Douglas Adams?
Who is your favourite fantasy writer? Why?

Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman.
Who is your favourite author overall? Why?

Tough. Think I'll pass there.
