The series' overall quality is dependant on Book 3.

Book 3 should reveal whether all the little hints and inconsistentcies are, as claimed by Rothfuss, actually building up to some majore revelations or are the result of the author ballsing things up. Until then, we can say that the series is reasonably-written but incredibly long-winded, and it's unclear now just how much of the exhausting subplots are essential and how much is filler. Guess we'll find out in another 2-3 years.
I am becoming skeptical about Patrick Rothfuss (spoilers for about half of Wise Man's Fool)
