Also, they say you can learn Italian in two weeks, and I'm inclined to agree.


But if one has ever learned how to read Spanish to any degree of fluency and/or has had some coursework in Latin, Italian is mostly intelligible. Maybe not as easy for me as the dialects of Portuguese are, but still easier than Catalan or French.
