Hence the link in my mind, even if Gerusalemme obviously has nothing to do with Roland/Orlando. And yes, I agree that Italian is not very hard to learn - I own one or two books in modern Italian, including Roberto Saviano's notorious Gomorra, which I do intend to get through in the original. Medieval Italian is still something else, though, and I can't say I'm sufficiently enthusiastic about reading those works to go to the effort of reading them in medieval Italian. At least not any time soon.
