I honestly don't know enough about him. The Shrike Send a noteboard - 04/04/2017 12:41:35 PM

I know of his influence. But I haven't read much of his poetry. I have my own interests and within the confines of Russian literature I pretty much stop somewhere around Bulgakov and Pasternak. The entire oeuvre of the Khrushchev Thaw is something I know next to nothing about. I didn't even read any of his poetry before his death. It's a shame really because it does seem quite powerful and beautiful in both English and Russian. Though I still prefer Akhmatova of the Russian poets.
