they're the big ikea expedit things. anyway, the to-read books are unorganized except that i haven't read them and they are together. the fiction books i have read are all in 7x7, organized with each author's books together, comics are not mixed with novels, spanish books are all separate. some authors take up whole cubes, others don't. linguistics books are in one place in a different shelf, old dead languages, syntax, semantics and phonology are the groupings. the dog books are all together, health, training, education and behavior grouped separately.

i have no idea what you'd like, though.


I also keep the unread books unorganised and together. With exceptions. If I already have a feel for what type of book it is, it goes into my system.

I love the IKEA expedit, by the way. They are lovely. I had them in an earlier flat. The possibility of stacking double and putting books on top of books appealed to my odd system.
