It's monolingual with two chronologically divergent readings. I'm sure Tim could come up with a better term for exactly how to describe it. Perhaps "monolingual duachronic parallel edition"?


If he considers "ebonics" as a separate language, methinks he ought to do the same with Middle English. :P After all, there are a number of modern language pairs that are no more different from each other than Middle English and contemporary English. So "bilingual" seems like a good way of describing it.
