That boggles the mind. Yes, WoT is a very long series, but it isn't difficult reading, or an extremely deep story. Magician, and the Riftwar series, has moral issues, has the struggle of the human condition as much as WoT.
Sorry, maybe that was a misuse of the term weighty, but it has far more characters and subplots to keep track of, some of which don't get visited every book, etc. It also IMO raises alot more immotional/metaphysical type questions. Any way around it, I meant more that dropping WoT on someone that's never read any fantasy before could be a bit overwhelming.
