Because it was changed a bit for the editions that started being done after the 10th year or so. not sure exactly what changes were done (been a long time since I've read it) but I remember a forward to that edition by Feist talking about having rewritten parts of it.
What changed in later copies?
Certain details about the Baron of Land's End get changed in the Riftwar:Legacy book Jimmy The Hand so the new version of Prince of the Blood is retconned to reflect these.There isn't a huge amount of it but I just find it annoying.
And while Feist does iron out one or two things in the climax of the book, I don't think it's a big enough improvement over the original to recommend it.
