Recommendations from people who've liked books that I've liked. Or better yet, loved the books that I loved. Lately I just read Kristen's blog (fantasycafe.blogspot.com) since I've discovered we have remarkably similar tastes, it's amazing and awesome.
Before, I used Listmania on Amazon to get ideas, then read through reviews to see if it's something I would enjoy. Also, if a book is widely praised and discussed, I would take a chance. I almost never buy from a physical bookstore and then, never books that I'm not familiar with.
