I didn't manage past 20 pages in that book before deciding I didn't like it enough to finish it.

You're lucky. I almost never hate books, but I think the fact that I was determined to finish it tipped me over from mild dislike to definite hatred.

I'd almost expect to be mildly intrigued by anything I could really hate, but I just plain old don't like it, don't care about it.
