Especially Paul..*shudders* Too immature and far too arrogant. The Harkonnens were far more interesting if not more likable.

I guess the reason I never liked the characters was their lack of humanity even though I never had the zest to analyze the text much. The second half of the book seemed better than the beginning, I recall that.

Liked the world building a lot, obviously. Impressive, though I could care less about planetology.

Never saw any moral faux pas in his portrayal of the Baron's sexual paraphilia and I didn't notice any sentiment that it was being linked into homosexuality. I'm somewhat openly gay, it wasn't offensive to me, at least.

I kept hoping that Jessica would step out of the shade of her husband and later her son's. That sure didn't happen.

All in all a very nice scifi book. May I never read another one.
