Yeah - some of it pretty good too but still all small stuff SilverWarder Send a noteboard - 21/04/2010 07:26:12 PM
I was sure about the uniform because so the officers have so many strange mess dress uniforms that I can’t keep up with them all.

I am the only Marine in a room full of ex air force guys so chair force jokes just come naturally to me. Of course I probably wouldn’t make that joke to Buzz since he earned that chest full of ribbons the hard way and some of them are rather impressive;)

Some of my favorite fliers from the 2nd World War were US Marines - so they get full measure for having good pilots.

There are plenty of courageous Air Force guys besides Buzz. I worked for a Captain who I only once saw in dress uniform. He had a ribbon that I'd never seen anyone else with marked with stars such that he'd gotten it ten times.

I looked it up later. Air Medals. Ten frackin' Air medals.

Now one of them - that would be cool but not THAT impressive. They're not silver or bronze star level as I understand it. But TEN? That takes real work.

Lots of unsung heroes out there. I'm sure that's just as true for the Army, the Marines the Navy etc.

For every battle honor won - a thousand heroes die -
Unsung and unremembered.
May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk.
