There are other reasons- the points others have made arguing about how it wouldn't stop abuse, how it's not permanent, etc. make sense.


I loathe debates like this, because I always find myself having to defend pedophiles. Oh, we should cut off their balls? Should we cut off the hand of a thief, and have a mandatory death penalty for murder?

Some people would say "yes" to those rhetorical questions, and that's fine, but that's what it boils down to.
