By your logic we shouldn't punish anyone because someone can always come up with an absurd example of excessive punishment.

But I wasn't talking about shoplifters I was talking about people who prey on children and who we know are likely to prey on more children if given the chance. We also know they create a cycle and some of their victims will grow up to be predators as well. So I don't care what they do with them as long as they never let around children again. I know it makes some people get a warm fuzzy pretending they are protecting human rights but all they are doing is allowing more children to be victims.

I really wouldn’t support forced castration or the death penalty in all but the most heinous cases but they don’t need to be out here with the rest of us. If a person is found to be a sexual predator of children they have lost the right to be part of society that is harsh but not as harsh as giving them a chance to hurt more children because it offends our sensibilities to lock them up for life. The children end up paying the price for that warm fuzzy.


If it was my kid prison might be the only safe place for them because I do believe in vengeance.
