It was always a right that had to be invoked so nothing has changed.

Your definition of a police state is one where you have to say stop interrogating me to get the police to stop interrogating you? Pretty low bar you are setting there. Are there any governments that you don’t consider a police state because I hate break the bad news to you but police around the world ask people questions.
