You can.

First criterion is a lot of elapsed time. Next, you stop thinking about their quirks and enjoy being with them in nearly all situations and at nearly all times.

The flirting I described? That doesn't require bravery, I think.
7. How would you handle a crush/ or if in love with someone who is already a friend not to destroy the friendship?
Once a "friendship" becomes "romantic" or "sexual," the "friendship" is no longer. Perhaps a great deal of time must pass before it can ever be a "friendship" again.
8. Do you think flirting is a lot different if the person of your "crush" is of the same sex?
I have no experience regarding that.
9. Can you be friends with someone after you have admitted having a crush on them and they don't feel the same?
