I am not sure why this is such a big problem. Because some media douchebag dubbed it the "Ground Zero Mosque", people think it's going to sit right where the Twin Towers were. This is just not the case. This is very misleading.
I ask a truly innocent question here. What difference does it make if it's 2 blocks away? 4 blocks away? 10? It's not actually AT the site, so why the big stink?
Sounds like another case of media hype gone wrong.
Our First amendment right says we shall have freedom of religion. Does it not? And If the Islamic people can afford (which I understand the funding isn't quite there) to put a Mosque there. then LET them!! Is that not the privilege of being an AMERICAN? Irregardless of their religion? I am so utterly disappointed in what our government and Americans have become- I highly doubt the founding fathers intended for our government to be babysitters. I hate having the government in my business. And this was supposed to be the land of the free and the brave. The Great melting pot. You respect my religion, I respect your religion. I don't care if you're green, purple, blue, orange, red ,brown, black, yellow, all of the above. you should still receive the same amount of respect. And While I'm bitching- if anyone cares, I say let the gays get married!! who the hell are we to say they can't?! they pay for their marriage license just like everyone else, why in the hell does the government care where the money comes from? when they want to get divorced, take that money too!! who anyone has sex with, is no one else's g-d dmaned business!(adult wise, before some ass throws child molesters in there) If they love each other and want to spend a life together, blessed be, and go in peace! GAH!! What a huge disappointment.
* (edit to change "someone" to "some media douchebag". More fitting, I think.
* Edit 2 was to fix inadvertent smiley.

Wait, wait WAIT! The location for the so-called "mosque at ground zero" is actually 2 blocks away?!
