Yes, it's through the ongoing acts of creation and love that we are sustained by and seek God, so if you want to get down to it humans can't do anything on their own, including achieving salvation. But then ttal depravity is as meaningless and true as saying "humans are utterly inable to say 'lawnchair' on their own." We can't exist on our own. So the recognition of God as Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer is very important, but it's also very important to say "Okay, here's what I've been given; now what?"

If you haven't already, try reading Calvin's Institutes, rather than getting lost in the mess that Calvinists made in the centuries following his death.
