"Hell" is largely a medieval creation. Unless you are using a very screwed up bible I don't believe Christ ever mentions the term at all.
(He does mention the devil from time to time, but that is not the same thing)
(He does mention the devil from time to time, but that is not the same thing)
Hell is definitely there at the culmination of the parable. You'd have to pick a very "interesting" translation to avoid the topic here.
Honestly, though, I much prefer His next parable as a life-driving passage:
The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and the Pearl
44"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
It speaks of truth that isn't just a hobby or tradition, but something worth giving our all for.
The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
