I'm not taking anything personally.... Jeordam Send a noteboard - 01/09/2010 09:20:55 PM
Did you read my original post, Francie?

I mean, do you disagree with what he says in this post? And on what basis? Do you base your belief in God on exclusion and hate? Do you justify your prejudices by saying God doesn't want this or that? And if you do, HOW DO YOU KNOW?? Did God TELL you these things?

Some things jump out in this...

First off- Exclusion doesn't equate to hate.
Secondly- The Bible is very clear sin and holieness cannot coexist. God is Holy...and as such, no sin can be in his presence.
Third- I know, because the Bible says flat out that the wages of sin is death, but that the gift of God is eternal life. It also states that the path to salvation is narrow.
Fourth- God told all of us these things. Its written down in the Bible for you to read and study.
Fifth- I don't need to "justify my prejudices" in any way, shape, or form. Why? Because I'm not the one making the call. God made the call. God said what sin was....not me. God is the one who is making the judgement at the end of it, because only God knows the person's heart.

But here is something for you to contemplate. You have person A, who has lived a horrible life...multiple murderer, rapist, child abuser, torture killings...the whole deal. The guy is scum. Well at the end of his days, through some series of events that we don't understand fully, he honestly and truly repents to God for his sins (as horrible as they are). Person A dies.

Person B has lived a good life. Was an upstanding, model of good actions. Never killed anyone, never cheated on their taxes, or anything "really" bad. His friends and family considered him a "great guy". He did charity work, gave (time & efforts) to many different programs that bettered the lives for hundreds if not thousands of people. At the end of his days, he never repented of his sins (even though they were minor), never asked God for forgiveness for even his few sins. Person B dies.

Well both person A & B stand before God for their judgment. Who makes it into heaven? The scummy person A who did all those horrible things, but asked for forgiveness? The great guy person B, who did nothing even remotely horrible, but never did ask for forgiveness? Person A is the one who goes to heaven. Person B does not.

Person B is "excluded", by their own volition. Why? Because Person B excluded God from their own life. Why should they want anything to do with God now that they have died?
