but it doesn't sound like she meant to say anything negative about gay people. So, perhaps ill thought, but soul-searching-bad? I don't think her comment was THAT bad...if she'd said "Assholes" instead of "Faggots" no one would have cared, but her intended meaning would not have likely changed. She was celebrating her team's victory by insulting the other team. That's far from unusual or some cardinal sin against humanity.
