She was my facebook friend and wrote something really demeaning and just outright stupid in a reply to me. I took it to HR, and they saw it as harassment- even though it was technically outside the workplace.

I guess the lesson is, never put something in writing if you don't want the whole world to read it. Especially if it's mean.
