but I think that both the school and the girl are overreacting (as is usually the case). I think the girl is using a religion that may or may not even be legally considered a religion to fight for something relatively meaningless. Of course, if it's not meaningless to her, that's an argument, but in the greater scheme of things, taking out your nose ring for a few hours isn't the end of the world. People are forced to do worse things against their beliefs every day.
However, I think suspending a girl just because she won't take out her nose ring is just silly. It's just a nose ring. Unless it's causing a problem (I doubt it), then what's the big stinkin' deal?
