The "church" should not be recognized or granted protection. It is clear that it is not a real religion but was founded exclusively to grant its members protection under the Free Exercise clause of the Constitution. The intent is to allow them to claim discrimination if they are fired from jobs for their body piercings or tattoos.
...though I'm having trouble deciding where the "real religion" line gets drawn. Is it one of intent would you say? Or is that at least one of the factors?
