First, I think concepts like god and eternity are expressions of the same thing. As for time frame, I think that the whole point of eternity is that it's timeless, not everlasting. I don't believe in an afterlife, so to me Heaven and Hell will have to become something we experience here on earth. Heaven being close to god/eternity/whatever, and Hell, of course, being unable to reach god/eternity/whatever.

So. Hell - and this is just true for me personally - is when you not only don't get that, but you also don't understand why. It's not when you simply forget about it, it's when you remember it intensely, but can't reach it.
