Ya'll get your share of Mormons, I believe. Joel Send a noteboard - 01/10/2010 01:37:40 PM
The Mormons being much more common in the US and almost unknown elsewhere.

They have a very robust foreign missionary program, even by the standards of American evangelicals. They even picked off a wotmaniac Brit (kinda wonder how she's doing, 'cos I haven't seen her since about a year before the end. ) It IS a religion though, so it seems within the scope of a general religion test. There isn't exactly a horde of American Buddhists, but there's a question about that religion on the quiz. I DID think about that, but ultimately it's a question about a religion, IMHO, not a country.

I think in history classes outside the US the topic is omitted altogether. *NM* Legolas - 01/10/2010 11:36:41 AM 437 Views
I'm fairly sure it isn't seen as a must know in the British educational system *NM* snoopcester - 01/10/2010 11:42:07 AM 484 Views
Quite. And certainly not in New Zealand. *NM* Rebekah - 01/10/2010 11:55:27 AM 455 Views
I'm sure you're right, but it shouldn't be, because the formative influence was/is huge. Joel - 01/10/2010 01:15:09 PM 1181 Views
Well, in university level American history courses, I'm sure it's mentioned. Legolas - 01/10/2010 01:20:56 PM 1076 Views
I think when a country becomes a world power you need to cover more of its past. Joel - 01/10/2010 02:00:54 PM 1104 Views
Depends on how much that past mingles with yours. Rebekah - 01/10/2010 02:08:35 PM 1134 Views
Seems more like it depends on how the present mingles. Joel - 01/10/2010 02:21:56 PM 1018 Views
Well. Not so much. Rebekah - 01/10/2010 02:28:55 PM 972 Views

That last certainly seems to be NZ's point of view. *NM* Rebekah - 01/10/2010 02:34:59 PM 490 Views
