Dated a Jewish lady so I knew that they started on Friday (attended a satar actually) but didn't know if they were going to take it that way or not. The last one I guessed. Two of the options seemed geared to modern american politics Billy Graham and John Edwards...but of course I over thought it since John Edwards was the answer just not the current John Edwards since the first great awakening was in the 1800's. Should have remembered as I have read sinners in the hands of an angry God and it is a great example of what I don't believe about religon.

Oh and for those who found it odd. Yes the catholic church does believe that the bread and the wine does actually become the body and blood of Christ. As such they have been accused of cannibalism before by some people..

missed the one about the bread/wine (Seriously? Catholics believe the crackers/wine actually BECOME the flesh/blood of Jesus? that's kinda...creepy.) and the one about Job, which in retrospect, I probably would have gotten correct if I'd taken the time to think.

As far as that Buddhism question, I don't like that Hinduism was an option. Buddhism is still clearly a better answer, but the end "goal" of Hinduism is still the same, it's just approached and described a bit differently. It's still the same idea.

I think in history classes outside the US the topic is omitted altogether. *NM* - 01/10/2010 11:36:41 AM 295 Views
I'm fairly sure it isn't seen as a must know in the British educational system *NM* - 01/10/2010 11:42:07 AM 308 Views
Quite. And certainly not in New Zealand. *NM* - 01/10/2010 11:55:27 AM 319 Views
I'm sure you're right, but it shouldn't be, because the formative influence was/is huge. - 01/10/2010 01:15:09 PM 829 Views
Well, in university level American history courses, I'm sure it's mentioned. - 01/10/2010 01:20:56 PM 748 Views
I think when a country becomes a world power you need to cover more of its past. - 01/10/2010 02:00:54 PM 767 Views
Depends on how much that past mingles with yours. - 01/10/2010 02:08:35 PM 809 Views
Seems more like it depends on how the present mingles. - 01/10/2010 02:21:56 PM 714 Views
Well. Not so much. - 01/10/2010 02:28:55 PM 701 Views

But more important, I would stay, is understanding your own country - 01/10/2010 02:34:22 PM 884 Views
That last certainly seems to be NZ's point of view. *NM* - 01/10/2010 02:34:59 PM 339 Views
