It's a good question SilverWarder Send a noteboard - 14/10/2010 02:41:21 AM
Forget the banks for a second. If everyone starts walking away from their debt it could be devastating to our economy. Do we have any obligation to do what we think is in societies best interest even if it is not in our own? If we don't what does that say about our ethics and values?

But why is it that the people on the 'down' side of the equation are always expected to make the moral choice, while those on the 'up' side of the equation are not?

If you give your word in exchange for an agreed upon concession and the other person defaults, are you still required to hold to your word? That would seem to be setting everyone up to be used and abused.

Ethics and morals are a two way street. They have to be or far too much abuse can take place.
May God stand between you and harm in all the empty places you must walk.
