I'm glad they're being rescued and it must've been terrible to be down there, especially in the beginning when they couldn't know that they'd be rescued eventually. But watching the rescue and stuff like that..It's meaningless. We watched it a bit at school. The teacher who have the morning assembly remarked that there are a lot of people in Chile who need help and that the miners aren't all-important. I don't recall her words that well, but I agreed with the gist of them.


But then again, a friend told me today that I'm not able to feel compassion. I didn't care that she had..I don't recall what she had done. Stubbed her toe or something. My display of compassion is lacking. It feels like the polite thing to do is to react somehow, yet I know people who hurt themselves far worse all the time, myself perhaps included, and never ever complain. So my reaction is a bit too obviously fake.
