You originally said: "both in terms of grooming until that relative is old enough" - which certainly implies an age difference significant enough for the junior person to be under the authority of the senior complete enough that the junior would be willing to trust the senior blindly. AKA parent/child, though I imagine the case of a significantly older sibling would approximate the same if there were no actual parents around.
I did say that but I didn't and don't see it as implying an age gap of any significant sort.
