Then you made an unsupported statement that killing insane people in the street like dogs would deter the sane from committing murder. Unless of course you consider the statement "dead is dead" as support but since you referring to state of mind I am not really sure how that supports your argument. Even after you admitted that the insane can't be deterred you continue to argue that he should be killed to deter other insane people.

He does not need to be cuddled, he needs to be locked away forever but killing him does nothing but satisfy bloodlust. Shooting the insane will not stop drug dealers form killing people, shooting drug dealers will not even do that.

The only way to deter the criminally insane is to learn how to identify and treat them. Not much to learn from them after you leave them dead in the street.
