I only yesterday took a direct look at what happened, because I feared to learn how much more disgusting it would get if I did. First 911 was made into a political football and now the murder of a child born that day and five others is being made one as well. Now, digging a little deeper, sure enough I'm still more disgusted and alarmed. While discussing her vandalized office she noted the danger rhetoric like Palins represented and her concerns were dismissed on the grounds that kind of language is used all the time; now she's been shot and that's still the response to cautions about provocative language. Someone says to throw bricks through the windows of everyone who voted for the healthcare bill and her office is vandalized, then she expresses concern about being in Palins crosshairs and now someone shoots her--but it's "blood libel" to even SUGGEST the past two years of militant hateful paranoia contributed to any of the things this woman has endured for the great crime of trying to serve her constituents. I remember those here and abroad who were SCARED of what people would do if Obama were elected and thinking, No, we're better than that, it's just politics; there's always nuts out there but this isn't going to stir up violence a start another Civil War. That was before a group of opportunistic demagogues began RECRUITING the crazy; now... I just don't know anymore....
