Some would say Rodgers three TD tosses helped, too. ;)

Some would, and they undeniably did help SOME, but, once again, two of them capped drives that began on your 42 and 35 yard lines, so I think it's important not to overestimate them; personally, I think Pitt could have netted AT LEAST 4 points by punting instead of asking for a 52 yard FG from a pretty bad kicker, and given that Green Bay won by 6 that's a pretty big call. I'd probably give Matthews or Jordy Nelson the MVP award over Rodgers; he played a solid game and made no mistakes, but I think they contributed more to the win. IMHO, except for the first TD, which broke the stalemate and gave the Pack a lead they never relinquished (in fact doubled a few players later when Roetlisbergers desperate carelessness produced a pick six ), and the FG at the end that forced Pitt to go for a TD, the Packers offense produced very little. The rest of the game came down to whether the Packers D could stop the Steelers offense from scoring; more often than not the answer was "yes" and that, not the West Coat offense, won the game. It's too bad the Jets didn't play better in the first half against Pitt two weeks ago, because I think their D would've done as well against your offense but their offense much better against your D, but could've, would've, should've; the Pack was better than every opponent every time it counted so they get the trophy.

As far as my QB rating system though, I'm pretty sure Roethlisberger looks as bad in it as he does in the PRS, for good reason. ;)

He did get pushed into Roethlisberger at a very inopportune time. - 08/02/2011 01:31:27 PM 855 Views
